For “Calling Home”, I collected, via interviews, stories about phone calls home – from or to a friend, loved one or family member, close by or far away. I edited them down to 3-minute segments, then hired an audio installation expert to wire them into a rotary dial phone via a digital repeater, triggered by picking up the phone receiver. The result is an intimate listening experience in the private space of a vintage phone booth.
