Phonographic Memory: Listening to Satie in Paris

I wrote this story when I was living in Paris in the 1980s. It's about an artist who came into my life and the LP he brought along with him. This story was recorded at Phonographic Memory's live show on April 26, 2017 at the Bernal Heights branch of the San Francisco Public Library.

Postscript: I thought my friend was missing. It turns out he's still in Paris, and has been there making art since 1985, the year he emigrated from the Soviet Union and the year we met. His art is as vibrant and alive as it was when I photographed it on 35mm film.
